The rims on this nickel seem much larger and more sqaured off than the business strike ones. Any thoughts on it? I'm still waiting on the seller for reverse pics.

I don't think it's a proof, but it does have PL qualities. I look forward to seeing the pic of the reverse. This coin was probably an early strike. Five cent dies tended to wear relatively quickly because of the hardness of nickel. I do see a crack around 4 to 5 o'clock.

It's a business strike, but I can see why you ask. That center strike is amazing. But that probably means the reverse strike will be awful.

Love to see that reverse.

If this is a proof, what would you think it would be worth? I think some of the things like the fingerprint are on the holder, not the coin.

Gorgeous, but I still think it's an early business strike. I would be tempted to send it to a TPG and see what it comes back.
