I always do this to myself. Get lots of things I have no real extensive experience with just because they are a gamble to get and try to ID so here I go again with these 14. I know a few right away but not many. But life is about learning.

Come on Joe you know the rules only one or two coins per thread. At least one looks Venetian, and a few from Hungry.

Nice looking lot there, Joe. Should be fun to i.d. and flip. A number have partially readable legends and clear imagery that will point you in the right direction.

A couple of Livonian solidi (1570 2d in first row, and 165? next to last in bottom row) and a few Hungarian denars may be the ones you instantly recognize. @spence knows the last one in the middle row, but I don't.

Edit: Next to last in top row looks to be a Venetian 1/2 grossus, and on its right a Portuguese coin of Joao II?

Sorry echizento;

I was just shocked when the coins arrived and laughing more at myself for buying them with no real knowledge base at all. But I should not have posted them this way as you say. I really did not expect they would be all identified, it was just a long day at work and I sat down to list coins and just did not at all tonight as they all require study so I posted the photo here and instead and graded exams instead.

... and maybe Lucca for the first one? Could not find the exact attribution, but all the devices fit with Lucca.

Really neat lot! I'd love to get a lot like that. How much did it cost?

$130. No idea if it is worth it but everything will be started at $1 each once I figure them out. So I should get at least $14 dollars back.

I think your Joao II vintem may pay off most of your purchase cost.

And check the Lucca coin ... maybe 1558?

Yep. "Moor's head" denar

I'm stumped by the one just to the left of it... issued under a queen. And the large copper.

tdziemia;

I see what you mean about the Lucca, so 1558:

And that Vintem. Is that a reverse "P" under the crown on the left? That is throwing me quite off in the searches tonight.

Surprisingly not: 15th century Basel (Saurma, Numista).

Also stumped by the large copper; could it be a Judenpfennig? I wasn't able to find it among the online examples, but the style seems about right, especially on the reverse.
