I'm going to assume this would come back environmental damage based on the streak across Lincoln's face. The coin has a luster and finish unlike any wheat I have seen. Smooth yet bumpy wrinkly surface, has a mint luster to it...but reflective when angled to the light. Rims flat and wide on the outside, but tops are not what I'd say is square. The strike is crazy nice on Lincoln's jacket, hair, and reverse is possibly the best I've seen. Anyways here are the pics, will upload videos of the obverse and reverse as well. Not sure what to make of this one.

Let me know if I need any more detailed pics, can drop it under the scope if need be. Just an odd coin to me.

Yeah, no doubt, just find the finish on this coin to be odd, looks like a polished coin that has toned, but the luster says otherwise.

So what's going on with that apparent obverse mark in the first pic?
Rest in Peace

Looks like a really nice coin . Did you try an Acetone soak on that obverse mark ?

I see some mint luster but it looks somewhat diffused. Too bad about the stain. I would run it through the polarity ladder of solvents. Always start with distilled water!

Hope something works, this coin really is beautiful. I have a drop of goo gone sitting on him for a while...hopefully itll have some results...not sure what other routes I can go other than acetone and goo gone that wont harm my coins to be honest.

For perspective...the luster on this vs a bu red 1936...and rim comparison. Tried acetone and goo gone with no success, any ideas that may work?

Is it worn flat? If It is, then I'm guessing that it might be damage unfortunately

No, pretty sure it has some light corrosion going on in those areas sadly, environmental damage, old pvc holder, who knows.

MS details, environmental damage. I think that stain has eaten into the surface.
