I need info on these elongated pennies please. Is there a catalogue for these coins? I have searched ebay and all elongated pennies have sharks on them is there a reason? Thanks |

What would you like to know? They are essentially souvenirs created at tourist locations for 51 cents on a machine that has roller dies and they are made with 1 cent coins. You must have lucked out finding those shark pennies.  For some reason, I see elongated penny machines at beach attractions, such as amusement parks and aquariums. That might explain the sharks--it's an animal which gets attention. |

I somehow, sometime, acquired an elongated Golden Gate Bridge elongated cent. That edifice gets attention, too!

Amr, I saw the list for California and there are many in Monterey near here. Next time I'm in Monterey, I could get a few for trade. |

There is no printed catalog but that website is the best reference for any EC made in the last decade. Of course, ECs go back much further than that- they were first made at the 1892-3 Worlds Fair in Chicago- but the vast majority are relatively recent creations.
