First off I know nothing about canadian coin. Trying to get US coins down is hard enough. I was given a few hundred Canadian coin and this is was one of the first I looked at and it looks like doubling on the obverse and reverse with a couple gouges around her mouth. Just curious if I'm seeing it wrong or this is a known error?

I'll say die doubling but am no expert, I had gathered that if the devices are separated at the corners with visible notches it's a doubled die.

Just look at the references that I included on the "Not coin specific .... "in this variety forum where it explains about ALL types of doubling.
