Probably not one too many have seen so posting this one, although I seem to remember putting one of these up earlier this year at some point. Put some arrows on there showing some of the places the doubling is visible. 1942 Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die DDR-011

Interesting, I haven't been looking for this one. One more to add to the search list.

Stoneman I believe you are correct! I went into my collection and the one I have is a dandy MS coin with the notation "from discovery roll" on the slip

Okay I'm confused, I thought when it just scoots over a little clockwise or counter clockwise it was just Machine Doubling and not a true double die? Forgive my ignorance, I've been reading so many posts trying to learn, I must have jumbled something up here. How are those little scoots to one side a real double die? Please don't kick me off the forum for asking, I really don't understand. I'm really trying to learn.

I love your coins, and always read your posts in awe! I even went on ebay to try and buy some of your coins, but of course got outbid. I really do look up to your posts and those like Coop and Merclover for learning, so forgive my questioning.

Ask away. For this one you should read this bit about class IV doubled dies to get an understanding of how they come about. It's a start, and well worth reading all the sections on the different classes of doubled dies to know the mechanics of them which makes it easier to understand what you are seeing. http://doubleddie.com/203906.html
