Morgan Guy New Member United States 46 Posts	Posted 12/18/2019 12:44 am Thanks to some time spent on the Numismatic Photography sub-forum today, I learned about a free JPEG editing software that, among many other things, allows one to compress coin photos down to the 300 kb limit required to attach photos to posts. The software program is called GIMP. I used it to compress my full pictures obverse and reverse of my 1943 DDO Washington quarter and they are hereby attached. Morgan Guy New Member United States 46 Posts	Posted 01/02/2020 3:33 pm This is the Newbie giving yuns an update on my first DDO Washington quarter! It looks like I may have a FS-25-1943-103(016.7). Here in this sub-forum you certainly confirmed for me that is was indeed a 1943 DDO quarter and should be sent in for grading. I have just received confirmation from PCGS today that they have received my registered USPS package and that it is now currently being graded by them. As you can imagine, I am waiting with bated breath to see what grade it comes back as. After receipt, I will photograph that slab and post the pictures of my $7 wonder coin as a reply to this topic. Now for my equivalency question on this grading phase I am a total newbie on: CONECO lists my $7 FS-25-1943-103(016.7) as a 1943 quarter "DDO-011" NGC seems to use a THIRD different nomenclature system to grade their die variety coins as, and it uses "VP-XXX" to describe their die varieties. What system uses the "VP" designation? Is there a website or anything that translates any given die variety coin into all three systems, which seems to be the FS system, the CONECO system, and whatever the third (to me still unknown) system is using "VP"? God forbid that there is a fourth die variety system I need to learn. I want to learn how to "speak" in all three die variety nomenclatures. Thanks for your response in advance. "WDDO-xxx" or "WDDR-xxx" naming standard is used by http://doubleddie.com/228401.html "DDO-xxx" or "DDR-xxx" naming standard is used by http://www.varietyvista.com/ "1DO-xxx" or "1DR-xxx" naming standard is used by http://coppercoins.com/ In the comments or Cross-Ref section of the variety listing, a cross reference is sometimes listed. As for the naming standard "FS-xxx", that style comes from the CherryPickers' Guide: As for PCGS, they will use the "FS" naming standard (provided you checked and paid for the attribution for your coin). I don't know what NGC or ANACS uses for their attribution naming standards. Report this Post to the Staff
