Wow, what a thread.

Forum drama aside, I had been meaning to make a post for some time that in my ebay searches I have noticed a recent surge in very convincing fakes of Sassanian coins - convincing enough that I would have bid on a few if they weren't being sold by notorious fake-peddler Ancientground and his ilk.

Just be aware that they are out there, they are good, and they might be good enough to slip past auctioneers who are not experts in Eastern numismatics.
