It is a modern copy of a golden rider (a medieval coin), which was originally struck for the county of Flanders in the name of count Louis II (Lodewijk) van Male.
The side with the rider says: 'Ludovicus Dei Gratia Comes Et Dominus Flandriae'(Louis, by the grace of God count and lord of Flanders)
The legends on the other side read as: Christus Vincit Christus Regnat Christus Imperat (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ rules)
