I'm having non-buyer's remorse LOL! Well, my bid of $1758.xx came in 2nd place. I wonder of the winner is on this forum? It's a shoe in XF45 IMO but after looking at more pics the obverse is closer to AU (looking at hair detail compared to others graded AU or higher) but the reverse suffers from a weak strike. Big fan of original crusty coins such as this especially when they are in the condition census as a top 20 coin. What are your thoughts on grade? Thanks and happy New Years!

with the obverse being close to AU but the reverse does bring it down. I would say the reverse is XF40 so net XF45. Very nice coin!

For reference, this is a pic of a PCGS AU coin that sold for about 10K.

An AU grade here wouldn't surprise me at all.

The obverse appears particularly strong for a '43-O Dime. Nice coin and scarce in high grade. EF 45 at least is my opinion.

I understand why you are having 'non-buyers's ' regret !

This coin is much superior to my example below, (but I am very happy to have it.)

Your example is perfectly struck/worn on both sides. That is a great example!

I would concur with XF45, some minor issues but nothing out of the ordinary. I would be hesitant to drop $1.8k on a raw coin based only on those photos, but that's just me.

Solidly into AU territory I think. Above average eye appeal. A lot to like overall.

The coin posted by Bandsdean is nice. I think its an xf-45. Most 1843-o dimes are lightly struck up in the leaves. I think that it would have a better chance than even money to slab. The uneven toning may point to an old cleaning. That being said, the person who won it was very lucky. It's an extreme condition rarity in solid XF and it looks good. Sorry you didn't get it!

The coin by GermanicVS looks totally original and is charming.
