Going through some wheats I found this 1948 S LWC and cannot find a match on any of the three sites. I have come close but the mintmark is in the wrong position. the bottom right legs of the R in the words LIBERTY and TRUST are thicker than normal and the upturned bottom of the E tells me this could be a new class 6 DDO. Thoughts?

I see the doubling. It's fairly minor and isn't probably listed anywhere yet. You could send and email to Tanner Scott and see if he would list it.

I'd expect the extra thickness to show a bit stronger on IN GOD and LIBERTY. I do see some extra thickness on WE TRUST, but because of how minor it is and because it doesn't show up anywhere else, it might be too minor to list.

Yes, same as above. It's DDO but too minor to put a listing up for it.

There is extra thickness master die doubling from all three mints on the 1948 cents and this looks to be an example.
Here is a link to a list of master die doubling from the 1930's to 1979 that was compiled by the attributor of Coppercoins.

Wasn't aware of that master die doubling, but sure enough it's listed:

I think it's safe to say that Jim's coin is master die doubling then. Nice catch stoneman.
