$29 to conserved isn't too bad, but doubting about the results now!

I just looked at the 5 coins I had conserved by NCS. Nowhere does it say conserved, why would it? So I'm not sure where you got that idea from.
Ok, I guess there was some confusion on my part. I had incorrectly thought that NCS puts conserved coins in an NCS slab. But looking into this more I found this:
"If NCS determines that a coin will benefit from conservation, it performs the necessary conservation techniques. After conservation is complete, NCS transfers the coin to NGC for certification." https://www.NGCcoin.com/ncs-conservation/

But I've seen NCS slabs online, so maybe that is only if they determine the coin cannot be conserved?

They broke NCS off as it own company for a while. Then reabsorbed them. Any NCS slabs would have come from the time period that they were separate.

To me, the obverse looks terrible. If it is just scratches on the plastic holder, it looks unsightly. So would you break it out? I don't know... to me, it looks like the coin itself has been harshly cleaned. On top of all this, to me, no returns is a deal breaker specially with the questions that surround this dime. There are many other 23-S Mercs out there, so why fuss with this one? Pass. Just my opinion.

Some others feel these are die polishing lines. If you think the coin has been harshly cleaned, are you saying you feel ANACS made a mistake here? I'd be interested to see where these "many other" 23-S specimens are; with a full strike and original surfaces in high AU grade...I'm not finding them.

I doubt these "scratches" are on the holder as this was a recent submission to ANACS.
