Soft, dull fields despite no real evidence of wear. An uncirculated coin will show swirling luster. to the CCF!

Thanks for everyone's help. Coinfrog, how do you think it was cleaned? Dipped in something?

Coin has little wear but is devoid of original surfaces. Improperly cleaned.

do a search on ebay for this year in AU condition and compare the surfaces. yours is extremely dull overall on both sides indicating a cleaning although it was not harshly cleaned when you will see scratches and hairlines it was overly cleaned by someone at some point. an AU coin with this much detail should exhibit some brilliance in the fields and possibly some remaining luster. when you compare to other Indians in the same grade range you will see what we mean

I just received the coin. Looks a lot different in hand - brown with luster and bluish toning. It really needs to be photographed properly and I don't have the capability.
