But for some time now I've been paying attention to my change and I've noticed a lot of quarters dimes and pennies that I think might actually be rare,or worth money. Now that I'm a part of this forum, I think you guys may actually be able to help me decide on if they're actually rare or not. With this I'm going to include pictures of a 2008 penny, on heads it's got a gouge right under Liberty, on tails where the gouge is, it's right at United, but you can only see U and ed clearly. It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin. Anything like scratches, gouges, distorted letters etc. are nearly always damage. Report this Post to the Staff
