1940's Coin, I Think? Planchet Cracks?

heatsmu New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 01/13/2020 1:53 pm Hello. So, I'm new to blogs and coins. I have a question about a coin I have. It has several cracks, throughout the coin. I don't know if it's a cracked planchet, or just from the elements it's been exposed to over the years-PMD? I think it's a 1940 coin, but the date is a little disfigured. What do you think? SamCoin Pillar of the Community United States 3237 Posts	Posted 01/13/2020 5:46 pm Not an expert, but definitely interested to see what some of the experts here have to say. Two potential explanations that occur to me are 1. it's an extensive lamination error riddling the entire coin, or 2. it was super-cooled (maybe in liquid nitrogen or something) and then partially cracked.
