Disappointed that the small lam peel on the reverse caused PCGS to "no-holder" this one without a grade. I personally see no reason not to grade such a coin, but such is how it goes. 1917 Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die DDO-001, FS-101 PCGS 83 lamination "no-holder"

I think not holding due to a lam is stupid TBH. I know NGC will do it at no premium but PCGS would want you to send it Mint Error tier with attribution ($80) which is ridiculous.
It's a great coin regardless.

I have a question. I have not sent any of my coins in YET. If they don't grade it or slab it do you get your money back from the fees from on the coin?

Well that's a disappointment. Just because of that LAM? That seems a bit extreme to me.

Nice coin, sucks to have it no holder though. The LAM is so small, it shouldn't even make a difference.

Thanks for the fair warning. Still, it's a great coin!! Mine has a weird alloy thing going on the obverse, but for an $0.08 coffee can find...I'll take it with the alloy issue. With a lam it's still a no-brainer.

Great coin! The "No Holder" thing is ridiculous though.

It also occurs to me that looking at the label, the "peeling lamination" is in a larger font, and listed before, a major doubled die obverse. The lamination is so insignificant compared to the variety yet in a larger font and listed on top. My submission form certainly did not note the trivial lamination, but did include DDO-001, FS-101 neither of which are on the label.

Nice TB. At the very least, let PCGS know you/we are not happy. If enough customers complain it might make a difference. John1

That is a crying shame. A really great cent that deserves an attribution other than no holder it without a grade.

That is odd since the mint produced it with the lamination and is not PSD. Are they saying that because the lamination is peeling it is PSD? And if the lamination was intact it would grade? I thought they put "Details" grades in that case. It seems really odd they handled it they way.
