Hello, I found this coin in circulation at my bank a few days ago. I honestly don't know a thing about error coins or even if this qualifies. I have looked on here and I can understand a lamination error, but what causes the rim to look like it does? Or is it just damage? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance
I see a lamination issue as you note, but also some circulation damage. A fun find for sure and one that can hook a new collector. Welcome to the mix here!
The obverse (date side) of your coin has some serious post-mint damage issues - that said it's a wonderful 111 year old find in circulation that any of us would have been proud to present.
