Found this double struck [obverse and reverse] in collar 1976 nickle. When you study the pictures you can see the ghosting first strike, then the second strike over the first strike. Very impressive look. When you look at the picture of the A note the foot of the A of the first strike just above the foot of the second strike. All the beads are all 1/2 to 1/4 size. The 1976 and CANADA show the strikes well too. Enjoy the pics and like a few comments.

Could it be flat field doubling?

Specimen strikes, and sometimes PL strikes, were often struck twice. I have seen this effect in nickel dollars and 5c coins from the early 1970s. Rarely are the offsets enough to flatten or cancel out the devices to the level of the fields, but the beads in your third photo almost look obliterated completely.

Can you post a good photo of the entire coin, both sides?

I will try later to get pictures of both sides of the full coin. Problem I have is the PL Set glare from the plastic and the magnification of the plastic to get a clear pic. Just added a picture of the Beaver and logs, hair and fine details.
