PCGS - Many of us have a chance to encounter a Lincoln Cent on any given day, but to celebrate Honest Abe's birthday we thought something a little less common would be in order, so we hope you enjoy this (1864) J-PR-35 Gold Abraham Lincoln Medalet graded PCGS SP62.

I've always wondered what made a coin designated as a Specimen as opposed to Proof for coins/medals after 1830's aside from it being "specially handled". Prior to 1830's I believe most proof looking coins were designated as specimens.
