Hi, my son came home with an Eisenhower dollar and it has some unusual markings on it. Such as 5 stars to the left of his face on the front of the coin. Also, the dates 1941 and 1991 stamped on the front right side of the coin. I'm certainly no coin expert but upon looking online, I have yet to see a legitimate coin with any markings like this. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Josh

It is a counterstamp applied after it left the mint. Check this thread.

Thanks for the quick response!
As you can see, the coin is not in mint condition.. that being said, any suggestions on how one would go about putting a monetary value on it (if any)?

to the Community!

Nice counterstamp.

Probably not worth much more than a dollar, but a keeper.
