I have never been able to figure out why
MS red or red/bn examples of 1/4 ANNA's Victoria to George V1 are relatively easy to find.
With these:-
copper:-
all of the beard detail is there, so no wear,
MS-63 red/bn, COMMENT:- obverse 'carbon' staining,
bronze:-
all of the beard detail is there, so no wear,
MS-61 red/bn, COMMENTS:- scratch above and behind ear (obverse), 'carbon' staining (reverse).
Very interesting about the different metals.
1906 must have been the changeover date from copper to bronze.
