I have not had the opportunity to handle a ton of Canadian coins, but this nickel (if you can see past the corrosion on some of the high points) looks quite a bit nicer than others I've found in this date range. I found it pretty challenging to get photos that look anything like the coin does in hand, but I figured it was worth asking about if for no other reason than the potential novelty of finding a PL in a bank roll across the border!

A formerly very nice coin.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Seen extensive circulation, originally struck off new dies.
Not a proof.

The dies may? have been nickel or chrome plated.
The Royal Australian Mint does this occasionally, to extend die life. Proof-like semi mirrored fields are the result.

Yes..These nickles look very proof like when found in higher grades..They do wear and get dirty very easily on the wear spots. it looks like this one had a good strike from a early die state.
