Well, I will leave it to our UK colleagues to figure this one out, but King Edmund / St. Edmund turns out to be the patron saint of pandemics.

As luck would have it, coins from his reign are frequently up at auction, including now: https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?sea...&p=searchall

There's actually a patron saint for everything too.... There's a patron saint for stiff joints for example. Which occasioned an amusing double entendre when I was in high school.....

There is a meme out there these days about a Saint Corona who is patron saint of pandemics.

Alas, this is a bit of fake news ...

Christian tradition holds that there was indeed such a saint, but she was not related to pandemics or diseases (she is in fact, the patron saint of treasure hunters).
