Kevin, sorry this delayed reply. Interesting and enigmatic coin there.
My first thought, based on its superficial resemblance to some medieval English tokens I recalled seeing, was that it might be of that ilk, sort of like:

But those are usually lead, I believe. I don't know if bronze was used for them at all.
I am left wondering if it might possibly be from Sidon. This is perhaps a long stretch, though. There are certainly some similarities to the few published varieties that have stars, pellets, and that don't have legends...see below, for example, from David Ruckser's
Coins of the Crusaders. But I'm not seeing anything exactly like it, and I may well be way off base. Given the prices realized on the two coins below yours, it would sure be nice if yours was an unpublished variety of that general type!
