I put two shots here since one shows the apparent two layer or doubled effect. My comment here is that it would be difficult for something to have hit the mint mark and caused the rounding effect of the upper loop's indentation. A typical hit would have caused a straight ding.

The other 'appears' to show the upper loop being somewhat larger than the lower one.
