On a 1972 cent from one digit, you can tell if it is a doubled die or not:
Attributing-My-Dad's-1972-DDOs:-DDO-007
Note the top NW of the '9' on the date. DDO's will be altered on the digit. If they are normal they will be like the upper examples.

My apologies to all I may have offended. Sometimes my tongue gets in front of my eye tooth and I can't see clearly what I'm saying. This time however, both teeth got covered and I really messed up. Sorry. I got knocked off my soapbox and rightly so. I learned a lesson.

I like to show what I see on a coin. Then I can have someone point out what I missed. We all are not correct all the time. Best to learn and adjust if need be, rather than get offended.
