As antiques maybe, not for metal value.
Somewhat related, even sterling items such as candlestick holders have limited value. Pick one up; fairly heavy but they're filled and the silver is a very thin foil.

IMO, only for aesthetic or sentimental reasons - NOT monetary.

Given silver's antibiotic properties, if hot water and/or soap become harder or more expensive to obtain, silver plate may become more popular.
