The cheak-bone nick and the gouge in the N in cent stand out. The shoulder mark is not so bad.

The strike looks above average and the color is very attractive.

I see no signs of circulation wear and think this is a choice mint state coin.

I'd go MS64BN with a shot at gem 65 if marks don't show without magnification.

A $100 coin to me if it's raw.

Could be the picture but I see a weak strike in the L & U in Pluribus. Strong MS-63, maybe it might go to MS-64.

Thad, is it the strike, or is there some wear on the grains of wheat? The left top is where I seem to see it most.

Die wear, the 28S is known for over-used rev dies.

I see two brighter lines on the reverse- one on N and the other on C. I cannot tell if they are faint scratches or just breaks in the brown patina. Other than that, bherring1964 pointed out the two most obvious marks so I would say MS64BN. I love BN coins with just a few hints of red

I try to grade before I read the comments. But it's nice to read the comments and know that I'm in the ballpark.

MS63 RB... The nick on the cheek really bothers me, and by really bothers me I mean it's a beautiful coin and I'm jealous.

I'll take better pics once I get the coin....should be next week.

Another note on this one....I believe it to be the large S variety. Only about one in 25-30 is large S.

Thad,

Vicbrenner has some nice cents! I have bought a few from him and have been very happy. Nice buy! I agree with MS64 RB.

OK, here's the real pictures. This is the large S variety. These are rarer than the small S, estimated at about 1 in 25 or 30. Oddly, most collectors don't care, but I do.

Please regrade with better pics:

I will stick with 64-65. The hits on the face are in focal areas and I think those are worth more points than non focal areas.

I'm going with 64, which is how it was advertised. Nobody else what's the update their opinion?

Looking at your new pics, I think it might merit RB instead of BN
