1808 50 Stuivers Netherlands - Possibly Counterfeit/Fake Or Not?

I haved more time now and I looked it closely. Weight: 26,2 grams Diameter : 36,50 mm It is normal measures. But look at the head and letters KON. Almost no space between. On coinarhives there is a space between letter K and hair. Most similiar I found is this: https://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotv...538cbc15315a Look at bootom of neck, it is different. swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 04/08/2020 12:40 am monarch This coin was not made like a modern coin, so an exact match is not required. Each die pair looked slightly different. When I authenticate a coin of this age I always ask myself if it was made correctly for the historic period. Here I can see no major issues with how the dies were made and with the way the coin was produced. The planchet the coin was struck on was irregular with a small clip and since the edge was applied by a milling machine there is no interruption in the diagonal design. I also note a large scratch across the face of the coin which looks like an adjustment mark as I would expect to see. Based on those facts I would vote to accept the coin as GENUINE. I would of course defer to the expertise of someone who has more than a passing familiarity with the type. Report this Post to the Staff
