Thanks, QuarterHoarder! It's been one of my favorites since I got into error/variety coins about a year ago, and it's one that I kept a particular eye out for, so I was beyond thrilled to add it to the collection!

Wow. This is really, really rare. I've only heard of a few examples floating around (less than 10 I know of), so that's amazing!

Wow, seriously, GrapeCollects? I had no idea! I never really check populations, so I just look for any variety that seems interesting enough that I'd like to have it in my collection! Now I love this coin even more!

Extremely rare coin. I am lucky enough to have one of these but have never found one myself. Very, very well done indeed.

Thanks Tropical! Is this worth getting slabbed even though it would be a details coin because of the verdigris? Love the coin, but so bummed it won't straight grade...

Congratulations. Very nice find. Get some Verdi-care on that soon to help minimize oxidation.

Should I, Pete? I posted about conserving the coin on the general forum, and jbuck pointed out that the black spot on the A could be a hole in the plating. I didn't get a clear answer on whether it would be better to verdicare it or not if that were the case...

Maybe a soak in acetone first if others agree?
I certainly would. I see "white-ish" areas on the coin that makes me think it has been in some kind of liquid (the environmental damage you noted). Even though it is a "details" coin because of environmental issues, leaving it as it is will only allow more oxidation to occur.
If Badthad pops in he can add input since it (Veri-care) is his baby.
Congrats again on the find!

Thanks Pete! Also, any thoughts on whether it's worth getting stabbed despite being a details coin? Everyone is saying it's very rare, but it seems to be so rare the auction history is pretty scant, and I can't really figure out if it's worth enough to justify sending it off.
