I've searched and found some info on a like coin, one pertaining to an 1864 IHC with a double die obverse,
this one is similar except for the date, die cracks plus a few other aspects.

The obverse on this cent exhibits doubling on all letters, some minor, some more pronounced including the feathers tips & portrait.

The date looks like it might have a partial "4" under the 5 plus the "6" shows doubling or another number
under it.

What is to the right of the date is unknown, it doesn't look like a gouge but like a design of another
coin, not sure, from the right end of the indented mark a die crack starts and continues along the edge
of the coin.

The reverse has a die crack at approx the 3:00 from the wreath to the rim, another from the center right
of the shield to the rim, another from the top left corner of the shield to the rim, another at approx the
10:00 position from the wreath to the rim, another at the 5:00 position from the wreath to the rim,
another at the 7:00 position from the wreath to the rim.

I'm at a total loss with this Indian, any help would be appreciated and whether its something half way
decent or a common piece, and if its anything, should I have it graded or try selling it raw, I'm not a collector of the series. Thanks!

There are a couple of Snow varieties for the 1865. S-1 through S-3 are for the plain 5. Yours is the fancy 5. The only Snow variety I'm showing in my book has a doubled reverse. I would suggest going to the Fly-In Club Forum. Rick Snow posts over there and he is still discovering new varieties.

Hello Susan,
From what I can see of the date, it appearse to be a Snow-11( 1865 Fancy 5, 865/865s,65/65s.
