This isn't my coin and I have no intention of bidding on it, I really wouldn't want it, but I happened to see this as I was looking at ebay this morning. I am curious as to what might have caused this damage to a better date Morgan ...... any opinions?

Probably lead paint...will probably come off with some acetone.

Not sure if brake cleaner will harm a coin or not, but that takes paint off better then you'd imagine.
