Hello.

Discovered the Coin Community over the weekend and decided to join.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania. Spent twenty years in Philadelphia where I felt the ghosts of Barber and Longacre and Morgan on a daily basis. I live in NYC now.

Been collecting since the autumn of 1977 after I found an 1894 Indian Head cent while helping my mother garden in the front yard. Found a copy of The Official Red Book in my grade school library the next day and have been at it on and off and on ever since.

I have four main numismatic interests: 1) Collectibles found in change, 2) Collecting and curating a quality annotated American type set (no odd denominations), 3) Filling two Kennedy and Franklin half dollar Whitman folders I once received as a gift, and 4) Some Canadian, British, and German type coinage.

I especially appreciate quality circulated examples between VG and VF with good eye appeal.

I look forward to looking at other collections and learning more about the hobby from you all.

Thanks!

" Spent twenty years in Philadelphia where I felt the ghosts of Barber and Longacre and Morgan on a daily basis."

I have long suspected that Pennsylvania was among the last strong holds of these lovely coins. WELCOME ronP!
