When comparing the doubling of the 9 in the date, it is fairly similar to the other doubled dies in that year. However, the rest of the date seems to be unaffected.

Any thoughts?

Looking back, I don't believe this is doubling.

I would just like to know why the 9 is more thick than the rest of the date. Is it simply just one of the types of dies they used when minting these cents out?

Interesting, I've only come across a few. That's when I came to the conclusion that they must be using two types of stamps.

Some of the ones I've seen are not as thick, and match the date.

Wexler lists this as a Doubled Master Die. All 2019 cents have this extra thickness.

Oh! Thank you Tanman, that's very interesting. I completely forgot about the Master Dies.

I don't know much about them I must confess.
