Is that a scratch through the E in Liberty? Assuming so and given the forehead dimples, I'd say MS-64.

Don't have the coin in hand yet but based on the TPG grade I'm assuming the mark through the E is either toning, or on the holder, not a scratch.

pretty weak strike. scratch and forehead buckshot. light scratch on cheek and something on the upper neck area. cant see it higher than MS64 and with the weak strike I'm at MS63+

Finally got this one in hand I'm ecstatic with it. I think it may even be a hair undergraded. Strike might have held it back a hair. Fuzzy area on neck appears to be something on the holder not the coin.

Hi fenton,
Nice coin indeed....By standard the 46D is somewhat a weak strike...seen some better examples but this a pretty decent grade. Also, you may want to check the the motto as it seems to me there may be some doubling (especially on the D) Could be Machine Doubling but it sure looks like there's something going on there.
Anyhows, Enjoy your coin (it's a keeper)

Good call on the mint mark doubling. Looking like an RPM-004 as it has the light die crack along the bottom of the bust, and some doubling on the D. http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20W...6DRPM004.htm

Also has considerable doubling on the "In God We Trust". Very pronounced under a loupe but I think this photo captures a bit of it.
