Hi Nohope

Good day !!! I'm not sure about the .825 never found any silver marked that way.

The holed cents are interesting, must have been a fad or something at the school.

Rick

I didnt get out today,, I kinda damaged my hand at work last night.

Hey Nohope587! Looks like a very productive day. Are those holed coins subway tokens? I am very seriously considering the purchase of a detector. My brother in law has one he has never used and offered it to me. I will find out what make it is and check with you guys to see if it is a decent model and what might be a fair price for it. He showed it to me at Christmas and it was very balanced and light- weight. Good luck in your hunts! I hope you find a quarter million dollar coin like George Williams, an upstate New York contractor's 1817/4 Bust Half Dollar "raking dirt find" from last year! Mike

P.S. Hey Metalman, are you O.K.? I hope the injury is not serious! Mike

I am wondering if its white gold it weighs about the same as my wedding band which is 24K I think I will get the scales out and do a volume measurment and see if its silver or some gold or platimun alloy It hit way up on the silver scale on the detector.

Based on its weight and volume its silver not gold. I did some searching around and European Sterling silver comes in various grades 825 means 82.5% silver. This tells me the Ring was made in Europe somewhere but was lost in the state of Texas.
