I kind of like the toning on this guy. Put a bid in on it.

These dark toned coins are always a bear to grade from photos. It's got a nice reasonably clean check with minor scuffing. I think the large scuffs in the fields will hold it to MS-64.

I think MS-64 sounds about right.

I can see 64. However without it in hand I can also see 63.

IGE has said it right about extra difficulty in grading darker toned coins from screen pictures. Much harder to see tiny nicks and hairlines.

I love the toning. I'm sure it's gonna go for more than just grade value.

I'd say MS64 if there is not a lot of chatter we can't see in the photo other wise a solid MS63

Toning is interesting to explore. I'm sitting on the fence as to whether I "like" it, per se.

I'm thinking MS-60. My only question is the area of the chin and lips, which seem to have a low relief. Weak obverse strike? Trick of the photos?

Reverse has remarkable detail, which is shown off with the the toning. Nice strike.

the 81(S) is typically bold and sharp. for the year I think this one is AVG- for strike. I don't see any major issues with it and the fields look pretty good under the toning. the cheek looks pretty good as well but it is showing some rub. tough call between 64 and 65 as the toning may offset the cheek. I think it has a shot at 65
