Dear Friends, Please see the attached 1810 Large Cent on which the Date is readable only at an angle and the reverse points to a better die verity of S-284. Please help me with your opinion on Grade and the confirmation of S-284 variety. Is it worth grading? Appreciate all your inputs!

Start with giving us better (larger) images. Then give us YOUR opinion of its grade. I'll leave the die variety ID to those with experience.

Hi Kanga, I am thinking possibly a G4 or an AG3 in the worst case... For some reason the image optimizer it shrinking the pictures of the reverse... not sure why but this happened to my other 1798 cent and this 1810 cent as well... Thanks for taking the time to help.

Better picture of the reverse to better assist with opinions on grade and verity check. Thanks for all your inputs.

I'm thinking AG details (ED).

Variety is correct, S-284. it is the best variety in 1810, but it is still only an R-3 Slightly less common. I think you have about a $50 coin there that would cost you $30 to $50 to have slabbed. So if you got it for under $10 you could have it slabbed and pretty much break even.

Hi Condor, thank you so much for your reply. I saw 135$ as the price guide for a S284 in G4 so was interested in getting it graded... I got this coin for 30$ and not sure if I can get 50$+ on this without slabbing it...

also think its value would be about $50 if you sold it on e-bay for instance. Don't feel the cost of grading would help its resale.

Hi Jerry, thanks for the inputs. I will not go for grading on this one as grading is 25$ and verity plus is another 25$.
Thanks for your timely inputs.

Quote: I saw 135$ as the price guide for a S284 in G4 so was interested in getting it graded But this coin wouldn't straight grade as a G-4, more likely an AG-3 Details.
