I can't figure out how to get good images of shiny coins, especially pennies. Is there a setup that works well for that? I am thinking about buying a scope stand that has an adjustable led light on each side so you can turn off the light coming from the scope. I think. :) Ideas would be appreciated. I am attaching 2 pics of a shiny penny as an example.

It may prove convenient to have an assistant vary the direction and range of incident light with hand held lighting.

mrthrills first change your background. flat yellow drawing paper. you can also use clothe white not bright. the black gets pulled on top of your coin. the light you are using is what I call hard light. copper I like to use cool white light. it is the next thing to neutral light. if you want to know the kelvins. the bulb for copper is 4000K its neutral. same light used to photograph vegetables like tomatoes. also dinner plates. here is a copper Canadian proof like coin very reflective. Ray is right diffusion. you can use kleenix or muslem clothe.
