Norway minted a nice series of "critter coins" in the 1960s: moose, elkhound, squirrel, bee, and a small bird (what we would call a chickadee in the U.S.).

I just noticed that my 1969 25 ore coin has a poorly formed final 9 that makes it look more like a Q. I looked at other examples on ebay, and it seems there is a lot of variation in the final digit, with some having a longer "stem" to the 9, some shorter. Maybe as the die wore, this is what happened

Anyhow, here it is:

Sometimes when a coin is hit the metal on smaller raised elements can by 'pushed' in a direction, making it appear funny

The last digit is supposed to be a 9 looking pretty much like the first 9.
I see what you mean, that where the stem joins the "O" of the nine, it looks from my crummy blow-up photo like there is a depression that could have been a hit pushing some metal roughly "southeast.".
But the longer stem is still missing.

I realize these small curiosities aren't worth much, if anything. It was interesting to me that this entered my collection maybe 45 to 50 years ago, and until I took a photo, I never noticed it.
