really difficult with these photos as the lighting is quite poor. based on the reverse it looks in the VF35 maybe XF40 range but that's just a guess. would be nice to see better photos especially the obverse shield

The problem with 1872 Half Dimes is the strike and this one is no different. If you look at the upper left wreath on the reverse you'll see a soft mushy strike. I'd pass if if I was interested in acquiring one of these. The rock near the shield is also notoriously soft but I can't tell from these pics.
