Hi, I'm new to Coin Community. I'm from Long Beach, CA. Born in Corning, NY (glass capitol of the world), raised in Alaska, and now live in Ca.
My passion is finding old coins in my pocket change. So far my oldest coun is a 1954 silver quarter s mint mark. I also like to find error coins. I always thought those messed up coins had just been run over by a car. Who knew!?!
Howdy mwenck! "Messed up coins?" There are three kinds: One: Coins altered by mint employees BEFORE being struck. These can be valuable. Two: Coins altered during minting (machine) process. Most are not valuable although interesting. Three: Coins altered during use. These are spendable. Keep your eyes healthy! Looking for errors can be taxing on them!
