The reverse seems to show mint lustre if that is possible on a brown uncirculated coin. This coin along with the 1818S coming up next came from a bucket of 11,000 pennies I purchased. Any surface nics probably were a result of its surroundings and not actual circulation.

The overall condition could put this one down to EF but strictly on circ wear I'd go AU55.

You say it's an uncirculated coin? Maybe you're seeing something I don't?

bherring1964, The darkness on the obverse is mostly transfer of crude from the pennies around it in the bucket. The reverse actually has a reflective tendency when rotating it in the light. That is what makes me feel like any wear on this coin relates to it's surroundings more so than the relief being worn down. The wheats are crisp. I'm guessing AU58 overall due to the obverse appearance of wear.

Very nice coin, it's probably EF45 but it may slide up to AU. It might body bag due to the rev spots. It looks like some verdigris existed there at one time. That's one heck of a find!
