Looks French feudal, but I cannot quite make out the city name * * * VIO * ENSIS. I think not Tours, but what?

Is it really only 13 mm across? The denier tdziemia points to is the one I would say it is, if it wasn't for the size... those deniers are never that small, I think, they are 17-19 mm. There are obols of about that size, but they weigh only around 0.5 g and they have another design...

You are right erafjel. The measurement is nonsense. Its c. 17 mm. I believe Hugues is as close as we can get on this worn one...Thank you both
