and I quote: "... [on] the fourth annual Guinness World Records Day, ... In New Zealand, multiple record-holder Alastair Galpin added to his collection with a new record for the fastest time to peel and eat one kiwi fruit (16.15 seconds). He then broke the records for the loudest clap (113 decibels), most baseballs held in a baseball glove (14), furthest coin flicking (10.64 metres) and furthest golf ball blow (5.835 metres). ..."

I think I could flick a booger further than that...and they are aerodynamic nightmares. So I guess I could "flick a coin" at least 15 metres (notice my Brit spelling for all of you not in the states). Is there some restriction that the coin cannot have wings or something?

I don't know if I could, that's quite a distance. What is the technique allowed I wonder? And can you use any coin?

- I wasn't overly impressed, which is why I drew it to attention. Perhaps this record will be broken by a CCF member ?

more quotes: "Is there some restriction that the coin cannot have wings or something?"
"What is the technique allowed I wonder? And can you use any coin?"
- good questions, all of them.
I think I'd be looking for greatest density and smallest relative surface area.
That said, I think greater mass would also be an advantage, upto a point.
Leaving gold coins out of consideration, in Australian terms, I'd be trialling 20c, 50c, $1, and $2 coins.

"how far is that in feet."
- about 35 feet

hmmmm...I'm thinking there must be some rule to the flicking. Like the arm cannot move at all. And if that is the case, that is quite impressive.

Because if I move my arm forward while doing it, I can smash that record.

Just what I need, another hobby.
