NGC - Coin of the Day: French sculptor Francois Rude, seen on this France 1984 10 Francs Essai, is best known for Departure of the Volunteers. The sculpture, shown on the back of this coin, is part of the Arc de Triomphe. The Paris landmark was inaugurated on this day in 1836.

I have an issued into circulation example of this coin in about MS63. Quite a handsome piece.
Thickness about 2.5 mm
