I got this dollar as part of a tip. I have been trying to find out something about it. Is it just old and worn or something else? Thank you for your knowledge.

Has suffered from anytime of a few weeks to a few months of burial in soil.

Environmental toning/tarnishing from (most likely) burial in the ground, or exposure to chemicals. Doesn't hurt the face value, but does not increase it either. Spend it.
