Really nice example!

Any 1922-D is a pain to grade because of lousy strike quality, die overuse, mismatched die states, and the never-ending die polishing. I think most people give the benefit of doubt to higher grades for this date because of those factors. I can see the 58 here.

I think AU-58 is exactly correct. Look at that ear and hair detail around it.
