I m new in US coins, I m not sure about date is the smaller? and about condiction?

Not sure about the date size, but I would grade it FR-02 and possibly a details coin because of the scratches.

FR2. looks like a LD but use IGE's photos to compare in hand. look for the top of the 8 to be higher than the second 1 and the look on the 2 more closed almost touching the diagonal
