Stating the obvious I'm new to the forum, having made my first foray into coins in the 1990s as impulse purchase of canadian dollars over the phone. The company did a runner, were eventually caught sent down. I eventually got the coins, even though the police said they were worthless. Today they have some value.. no huge but better than letting them go for 0.
More recently I've added some ancient coins from reputable places (hopefully real), some 1990s german silver and took a stab at some Chinese coins at a auction. They were cheap!
I can say researching the Chinese stuff has been historically fun and learning a lot about how the industry works. i'll post some photos in other threads.
Hi, I'm really new to this. I never had any interest for coins until this morning when I found what seems to be a very old coin in my house, and after scouring the Internet I could not figure out what it was. If anyone can point me I. The right direction to help identify and evaluate, I'd be extremely grateful.
